Petite cité de caractère :
Active trading centre in Gallo-Roman times, Quintin became a lord's town in The Middle Ages. Manufacturing and trading of linen led to prosperity for two centuries so that almost 500 weavers could be counted at the beginning of the 18th century. The Quality of the local production enabled them to gain a name in the Spanish and Latin America market: the "Quintine" linen...The shipping of this production was assured by shipowners from Nantes and Saint-Malo . Today, the architecture of some houses still recalls the Malouinière style.
